/ MISSION

Joshua Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY is dedicated to the creation of innovative and engaging original dance productions. These works are created by Artistic Director, Joshua Beamish, and invited guest choreographers, both emerging and established. The company engages the public through high quality performance events and outreach activities, such as annual performance seasons, educational engagement with youth, choreographic mentorship for emerging creators, national and international touring. 

The company offers audiences access to regarded local and international performers and instructors, from lauded companies such as American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater and The National Ballet of Canada, among others. The company’s works continue to successfully enthral audiences through innovative engagement with digital technology.

Joshua Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY is a binational entity with two not-for-profit structures, one in Vancouver and the other in New York City.

Based in Vancouver, Movement Dance Productions Society is a non-profit society, registered with charitable status.

Joshua Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY America, Inc. is headquartered in New York City, registered with New York State and recognized with 5o1c3 status

/ TRANSITION 2025-26

With the launch of Ballet Vancouver, Canada's Joshua Beamish/ MOVETHECOMPANY will honour its existing commitments through to the end of 2026. We encourage local audiences to follow Ballet Vancouver to continue experiencing Beamish's works.
